Our Dvar Torah: “The Insanity of the Global Elite

Sometimes apparent opposites can both be true. Indeed, sometimes holding to one truth and not its opposite truth can literally lead to insanity! Just look around you for evidence of this. Among those of both political parties who are currently leading the US and the world many are quite literally insane! Many of them are certifiably so! Many are compulsive liars, sex addicts, pedophiles, thieves and traitors to the nation that has given them so very much.

To be clear, I don't mean this as a partisan political statement but as an accurate observation that is true of both parties. 'The inmates are running the asylum', as the saying goes!

As Jews we believe in hard work and praise merit based advancement. In this week's Parsha we are reminded of the need to exert ourselves, to better ourselves through work. People need to be self sufficient through their own efforts, their own work. Indeed HaShem promises that IF we will apply ourselves He will bless us with success.

But notice the qualifier: IF we will apply ourselves He will bless us with success. Too many people work hard, or play the system hard in the case of many politicians who have never worked a day in their lives. In either case, they become successful in the eyes of the world. They have amassed incredible wealth. Many of these people make more in a week, or even in a day, than most of us will make in our lifetime! But to what end?

What does one do after becoming so wealthy that another million here or there becomes irrelevant? One shifts ones focus to power! And as the saying goes, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely! Why? It is because in most cases, not all but I dare say most, once the goal of wealth is achieved the person turns to the accumulation of ever greater power and this drive, in MANY cases, leads to insanity. Of this tendency Rebbe Nachman of Breslov warns the following in Lukutey Moharan I Lesson # 64

[READ text].

Understand that of itself money is not bad, neither is power, but in the wrong hands can be the most destructive of forces!

Of course there have always been wealthy and powerful people. Without them we'd be living in chaos and poverty. However with the spreading of American Communism and Globalism insane people have taken the helm! Insane because while they have accomplished the first part, they have certainly applied themselves to acquiring for themselves, they have utterly failed the second, that it is HaShem alone who makes our successes possible and Who enables the successful to bless the rest of their societies.

In the absence of Love of G-d love of ones fellows is seldom practiced. Rather, those with money and power become corrupt miserable misers, they come to view themselves as the Elite even as their hatred of life consumes them, they consider themselves to be superior to the lowly proletariat, to the plebs, to those they consider their deplorable serfs. Think this is too harsh? It is not! In their insanity they surrender they humanity and become as demented as Caligula! They never even consider bending the knee to HaShem! In their demonically driven push to create the foretold Global Dictatorship they seek only Death! This is why most of them are childless! Many if not most of our so-called leaders today share this death cult world view. This IS where we are today. You need to recognize the times in which we are living!

"You're getting too heavy Rabbi Shlomo!" OK... so, Moshe Rabbeinu warned the Nation of Israel that when they succeed and prosper in earning a living they must be careful not to forget G-d! He said: “But you must remember the Lord your G-d, for it is He that gives you the strength to make money” (Deuteronomy 8:18). Onkelos interprets this verse as: “For He is the one who gives you advice about which assets to acquire.” The elite fail to understand this.

In A song of ascents about Shlomo HaMelech, we read the following: “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” (Psalms 127:1).

Friends listen, without EMUNAH, without looking to HaShem and devoting ones efforts toward achieving His goals, all successes are meaningless no matter how grandiose they may appear. Eventually every Tower of Babel falls as is currently happening to the nations of western world.

Know this! “When the wicked flourish like grass, and all the evil doors blossom, it is only so they may be destroyed forever, but HaShem remains on high forever – from Psalm 92.

Don't fear these insane raving demonic creatures! Do not fear their evil machinations against you! Rather, stand boldly in the face of the enemy, regardless of the short term costs -- which may be high in some cases -- and declare with the Tzaddikim of the ages, “Choose this day whom you will serve! But as for me and my household, we will serve HaShem!”

As the Psalmist assures us: Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, they will not falter. They will abide forever” (Psalm 125:1).

As the Days continue to darken the proverbial ball is your court.

Don't Fear the Reaper!
